8 good resolutions for young moms that we won't keep (and that's no problem)

That's it, in a single night we've closed one year and thrown ourselves headlong into the next. Bye bye 2022 👋 here we are in 2023! We wish you a year that's sweet, light and full of love. By the way, on the morning of January 1, perhaps you've made some good resolutions, to put all the chances on your side? Good for you! But, let's face it, the hardest thing about New Year's resolutions isn't making them, it's keeping them. So it's the perfect time to tell you about the New Year's resolutions that we never keep (and we know it!).

CONTENTS :

Taking more (real) time for yourself

Because every year you end up on your kneecaps, your first New Year's resolution is to take some time for yourself. A lavender-scented bath, three-volume novels read under the comforter or a tattoo session to finally finish off that arm, you're spoilt for choice.

But in the end... those hours of relaxation would be so much more useful if you took the opportunity to tidy up the house! And then, in terms of reading, the Livre de Poche 150-page collection is good too. What about poems? We definitely don't read enough (short) poems, don't you think? As for your arm... it's winter. We won't be seeing it anyway.

(Re)taking up sport, but really

Post-partum mood or simply post-holiday mood (hello slices of frozen log, smoked salmon and foie gras toast), you've decided it's high time to get back into the swing of things. An hour of Pilates before the kids wake up in the morning, or a 10 km run in the evening after their dinner, really, that's the pace you've been dreaming of 🏃‍♀️.

But... the kids get out of bed as early as 6 a.m., including weekends, and that hour of sleep before they wake up would be so precious to you! And then, in the evening, when the whole family has gone to bed, it's your time, the time when the two of you get together. So it's not so easy to get back into the swing of things.

Go to bed earlier and sleep

To be in shape every day, it's best to go to bed early every night. If the little ones are in bed by 8 p.m., you can reasonably envisage going to bed at 9.30 p.m., you're convinced. This means starfish, cotton socks and even a hot water bottle in winter. In the morning, you'll wake up rested and as fresh as dew.

But... going to bed early signals the end of your Netflix evenings, your late-night fireside chats and your books devoured until the end of the night. So much for the good resolution and long live the concealer!

Plan (and!) prepare all the week's meals

Here's a wish you'd really like to have granted. This year, you've resolved to join the "Batch cooking" team. Congratulations! You'll save an incredible amount of time by only having to reheat the dishes 🍝 and you'll love sitting down with your family to enjoy the discussion too.

But... planning and preparing all the meals for the week - 14, no less! - not to mention the baby's purées, the breast milk to be expressed, or the powdered milk doses to be organized, is particularly time-consuming. To do this, you may have to sacrifice a large part of your Sunday afternoons. It's not so bad after all!

Going out at least once a month on a romantic date

Now that's motivating. Going out once a month, just the two of us, as lovers 🥰. A restaurant, a movie, an exhibition, a walk in the woods, a few hours of massage in a spa... After the upheavals of pregnancy and childbirth, this year it's decided, you're really going to enjoy it!

But... Netflix on the big screen, the comfy sofa and its soft plaid (who said guacamole chips?) are reaching out to you. How can you resist?

Budgeting a shopping envelope

This time it's decided: 2023 will be a year of reason. Gone will be the extra onesie when you've just bought 5 for baby, the 12th pair of shoes in anticipation of spring and the books in boxes when your reading pile is still full. From now on, every time you go out, you're going to fix a shopping envelope 🛍️ and you're going to be strong, you're not going to give in.

But... the new bibRONDS colorsare so trendy! And the learning bottles- children absolutely must discover the Bubble bottles!

Develop 3,002 baby photos in your iPhone

A handling error or a misplaced smartphone would be dramatic. So this year, you're determined to sort and develop the hundreds of photos you've taken of your baby. Whether it's albums, magnets or puzzles, you're also going to take the opportunity to plan a few gifts.

But... between filing away the thousands of photos stored in your phone's memory and taking fewer shots this year, your choice is quickly made.

Work less!

Many of us are pursuing this goal! Whether you're self-employed, an employee or returning to school, this year you want to work less. The idea behind this good resolution? To enjoy the passing of time, your children growing up, your spouse whom you love, the weather when it suits you, to rest or devote yourself to other projects - in short, to do what you love.

But... life goes by so quickly, and habits are so stubborn, that your determination may falter rather quickly. Whatever the case, the whole Élhée team wishes you the best of luck in making the most of the time you have to love your little and big babies! 💜
