As the mother or father of a young child, you may have heard of the transitional object. According to child psychiatrists, the concept is simple, yet not always clear to parents. The transitional object accompanies the baby's discovery of the outside world. Part starter, part pillar, this unconditional source of comfort is particularly useful when separation anxiety makes itself felt. A symbol of the first months of life and the parent-child relationship, isn't the baby's bottle just as legitimate?

Round and supple like a mother's breast, BibRond, an emotional vector
One of the very first objects to enter your baby's field of vision is the feeding bottle. Nourishing from the very beginning, the bottle is also one of the first utensils to be taken in hand. So your baby has every reason to love it. All the more so if it's round, soft and gentle like Mum's breast.
The is an object charged with emotion. It relieves hunger, comforts, distresses and brings the child closer to its parents. The emotional connection that develops between baby and bottle underlines the importance of this familiar object in the development of autonomy and self-confidence.
The is also a powerful symbol of maternal love.. Skin-to-skin, eye-to-eye, feeding is a time for whispered words, exchanged smiles and the caresses that make your baby so happy. So it's easy to see why the object is associated with a wave of positive emotions.
That's why Élhée imagined her BibRond as an ode to parenthood, motherhood and uninhibited maternal love. Bottle-feeding, yes, but tenderly and safely. As a tribute to the mother's breast, BibRond conveys the most beautiful emotions that children take with them wherever they go.

What is Winnicott's transitional object?
The concepts of transitional objects and transitional spaces were developed by Donald Winnicott in the 1950s. A British pediatrician and psychoanalyst, he wrote several books on child development and the child's relationship with the mother.
According to him, the first signs of the transitional object appear when baby becomes aware of the first objects around him, at around 4 months. Its role becomes more marked at 8 months, when baby realizes that he is a being independent of his mother. This is the period of separation anxiety. At this point, the need for a transitional object arises, as a substitute for maternal absence.
By extension, the transitional space includes all those moments when the young child is not with his parents or mother: at the crèche, at the childminder's, at school...
The importance of transitional objects for your child
The transitional object is a real landmark for your baby. It reminds him that you're close to him, even when you're not. Emotionally charged, it helps him make the link between the moments when you're together and those when you're apart. It's a tangible comfort in his day-to-day life, a bit like a cuddle that's always close at hand and helps him to wait more confidently. So, if the cuddly toy is the perfect transitional object, the baby bottle also ticks all the boxes.
BibRond helps your baby discover the outside world
Depending on the child, the transitional object can take different forms: a blanket, a toy, a comforter, a piece of clothing or an object. It's like a little piece of you that baby can take everywhere to feel safe and secure, especially when you're apart.
An emotional bottle reminiscent of the breast and the mother
From the roundness of a mother's womb to the roundness of her breast, a newborn baby is surrounded by a convex softness that must be preserved. That's why Élhée has come up with an entirely round feeding bottle that fits in perfectly with babies' first world. Made from medical-grade soft silicone, the BibRond and its teat pay homage to breastfeeding and embody all the positive emotions that accompany it.
A soft, supple design, very comforting
What child hasn't rubbed his comforter on the tip of his nose for comfort and softness? Thanks to its unique material, BibRondround, supple and soft as the skin of a peach, also offers this soothing effect, which is very useful and much sought-after, especially when you're not around.
A fun and beautiful feeding bottle
The transitional object also has a dimension linked to happiness and satisfaction. When he finds it, the child smiles and hugs it. Round and with a pretty, colorful cap, the BibRondan emotional and comforting object, is also playful. Rollable or stackable, it's the first round baby bottle of its generation.
An unbreakable, eminently practical feeding bottle
Finally, BibRond is unbreakable. And isn't it a transitional object that stands the test of time? As an object of transmission between siblings (simply replace the bottle's nipple), the BibRond resists everything: it can be thrown away, crushed, frozen or even put in the microwave or dishwasher. That's why baby can take it with him on walks, to the sandpit, to the nursery or to grandma and grandpa's. It's the indestructible, tangible link between him and mom and dad.
In a nutshell: discover the cuddly bottle
What is the role of the transitional object?
The transitional object acts as a maternal substitute. It accompanies, reassures and comforts the child when his parents are not at his side; at the crèche or at school, for example.
How does the transitional object enable separation?
The transitional object enables babies and young children to symbolically represent their parents. It creates an emotional bridge between the family unit and the outside world. This is known as the transitional space.
Why don't some children have a cuddly toy?
Some children don't need a cuddly toy because they come from siblings whom they meet outside the home, because they enjoy a high level of inner confidence, or because another object, such as a baby's bottle, acts as a transitional object.
